The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking for its Finance Directorate (FI) – Capital Markets (CAP) – Investor Relations and Marketing Division (IR) at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st March / April 2022)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship
The objective of the traineeships is:

(i) to further the development of the EIB's borrowing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) by assisting with: the improvement of application performance/experience, the stability of data quality, the associated analytical reporting, the development of product documentation, and the standardization of application tests.

(ii) to improve specific work flows of the division and assist with various Investor Relations functions such as the modeling of credit rating methodologies.

These two lines of action will provide you with a good overview of the Bank, its credit standing, the strategy of communication to investors and knowledge about capital markets in general.

Responsibilities
Your main tasks will be to:

Obtain an understanding of how the EIB's borrowing CRM (here-in application) functions and provide application support to department members wherein its within his/her scope of duty.
Provide ad-hoc support to the Officer in charge of the application to ensure optimal delivery of related services to the department and external parties.
Obtain an understanding of the primary and secondary market data currently stored within the application as to leverage for potential ad-hoc analysis.
Obtain an understanding of the process work-flows underpinning the application to improve upon the current level of documentation.
Contribute to the design and implementation of upgrades and new functionalities added to the application.
Maintain business support logs related to the application.
Contribute to other IR tasks as required by the team, with a potential focus on credit ratings and sustainability market research.
Academic qualifications and professional skills
Final year of studies or University degree in Project Management, Business Analysis, Computer Science, Finance or a related field;
Excellent drafting skills including the ability to write system and user documentation in English;
Programming skills in one or more major globally recognized programming language;
Previous experience working with banking applications would be ideal;
Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
