The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Finance Directorate (FI), Capital Markets Department (CAP), Investor Relations and Marketing Division (IR) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Associate) Investor Relations Officer. This is a full time position at grade 4/5.

The term of these contracts will be 4 years.

Panel interviews are anticipated for October/November 2021.

The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs, with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.

Purpose
As (Associate) Investor Relations Officer (internally referred to as (Associate) Funding Officer), you will contribute to debt marketing operations in investor relations area, entailing delivery and further development of digital marketing and database /CRM solutions. You will also support sustainable finance activities promoting EIB debt and selected transversal projects, and conduct research to support the Bank’s coverage of credit ratings agencies, in order to ensure that the Capital Markets Department contributes to the funding objectives and relevant bank-wide objectives.

Operating Network
You will report to the Head of Division and work in a close collaboration with other teams in the Finance Directorate (FI), and other parts of the Bank.

Accountabilities
Maintain quality of data input and clean-up database content periodically;
Develop new reports in Business Objects (BO) and improve existing reports, adapting to evolving needs of the Department;
Execute projects that enhance CMA capabilities, in terms of automation of processes (e.g. for funding and league tables, dealer and investor profiles, bond tables).
Manage any delivery to third parties such as European Commission
Execute on finding new digital solutions for virtual marketing & dialogue with investors
Guide on choosing appropriate technology solutions
Contribute to developing solutions that can be used routinely for virtual roadshows and meetings
Prepare summaries of rating agency actions and reports on peers, and thematic developments.
Research/ report on green & sustainable bond market developments
Take part in market development/technical assistance projects as required
Where appropriate participate in Capital Markets Department or Bank working groups on environment/climate action and ESG
Contribute to/ coordinate briefing materials for senior management on a range of funding, sustainability and potentially rating topics.
Qualifications
University degree with studies in Economics, Finance or a related field
Working towards additional professional qualifications relevant for debt finance, e.g. CFA would be a strong advantage
At least 3 years relevant professional experience, to include in particular data analysis and statistical reporting
Working knowledge of debt capital markets, ideally also including credit ratings and sustainable debt markets
Proven ability to analyse and summarise financial information in user/ market-friendly form
Proven ability in project management, including IT projects
Very Strong IT skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Suite (including Excel and MS Project), SAP Business Objects, SQL.
Knowledge of market platforms, e.g. Bloomberg, is a pre-requisite
Investor relations experience, including knowledge of the conduct of investor relations and the appropriate disclosure of information
Good knowledge of the principles and characteristics of a borrowing programme such as EIB’s
Excellent knowledge of English and good command of French (*). Knowledge of other EU languages would be an asset.

(*) There may be certain flexibility on this requirement, but limited to particularly suitable candidates who may not yet be proficient in French. If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up rapidly knowledge of French and accept that their future career in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both of the Bank's working languages
